“Kabuhayan, Kalusugan, at Kaunlaran (K3) are our triple-fold support to our IP brothers and sisters of Pantukan to make a living” thus spoke Dr. Jocelyn Hijada-Hua during the launching of Community Extension Services: K3 with the theme “Tuloy-tuloy ang Pagtulong, Tuloy-tuloy ang Pagsulong” last March 15, 2021 at Cale’s Residence, Brgy. Bongbong, Pantukan, Davao de Oro.

Five months before KNP’s visit to Brgy. Bongbong, the barangay had only had minimal livelihood support. Now, the community extension program, through spawning, cultivating, and culturing mushrooms, has become a sustainable source of income for the IP community until today.

Mission K3 is one of the indispensable developments of the Integrated Development Plan of Indigenous People: A Glimpse of KNP’s Dream — a re-entry project plan by Dr. Hua transpired from the Training and Benchmarking of Community Colleges of Vancouver, Canada sponsored by CHED Central Office. “IPs are concomitant to my vision of educational landscape in Pantukan. They are integral part of the community. However they are marginalized. Now, I have to change that by giving them highest regard and significance and that will much be reinforced through this Mission K3.” held Dr. Hua

The said mission is sustained by the three colleges of Kolehiyo ng Pantukan: College of Business Administration, College of Agricultural Business, and College of Entrepreneurship. For the time being, KNP has chosen Brgy. Bongbong to be their adopted community for three years and plans to adopt more barangays after achieving their target outcomes in the current community.
